Several New Year concerts will be held at Shanghai Poly Grand Theater to celebrate the coming of 2019, featuring musicians from Austria, Hungary and Germany.
The Vienna New Year’s Concert will be staged on December 31, featuring Johann Strauss’s “Furioso Polka Galop,” “Emperor Waltz” and “The Blue Danube.” The Chinese song “Jasmin” will also be presented by Mara Guseynova.
The Verein Vienna Festival Symphony Orchestra will put on its “2019 New Year Concert” the next day. Under the baton of conductor Gerald Mair, the orchestra will partner with pianist Wang Ge Meilun, an artist from the Klangvereinigung Wien group, to perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No.21 in C major, K.467” and the waltz sequence from Richard Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier.”
The Szirom Symphonic Roma Orchestra from Hungary will put on a New Year’s concert on January 16 under the baton of Batyi Róbert. Featured artists include violinist Florea Maria. They will present Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture” and “Symphony No.5.”
The Deutsche Philarmonie Bonn will perform its New Year Concert on January 26. It will play excerpts from Tschaikovsky’s renowned ballets “The Sleeping Beauty,” “Swan Lake” and “Nutcracker.”
