Added value

Some old neighborhoods in Jiading Town have had their electric bicycle parking areas renovated to add charging stations and fire control systems. In the Liyuan No.2

Neighborhood, door access systems and exclusive charging stations have been installed. Each station will offer nine sockets and each charge of six hours will cost one yuan (16 US cents). In the event of an electrical problem, the  equipment will automatically shut down.

Park changes

One of the three big green spaces along the Wusong River in Jiangqiao Town has changed its name from Beihongqiao Binjiang Sport Park to Binjiang Aite Park. Plans for the area include exercising areas, public restrooms, a cafe and parking areas.

Pitaya blooms

Pitaya flowers are in bloom at Jiading Industrial Zone’s Dengta Village. Pitaya flowers open at night and can be cut two hours after pollination without affecting the growth of the fruit. The flowering season lasts from June to mid October and Jiading residents will soon be able to enjoy the fruit, known as dragon fruit in English.

Healthier pools

Jiading health authorities have launched inspections and random tests at swimming pools in Jiading. Inspectors checked health permits, water circulation and disinfection measures as well as water quality. The results show that the swimming pools are becoming cleaner than before. Very few swimming pools showed chlorine content exceeding standards, water renewal logs incomplete or other problems.

Revenue rises

Jiading District’s fiscal revenue rose 10.1 percent year on year to 51.4 billion yuan (US$8.28 billion) in the first half of 2015. The district saw its fiscal revenue expand 11.4 percent to 11.59 billion yuan from the previous year, completing 61.7 percent of its target set at the beginning of the year. The tax revenue from January to June increased to 11.26 billion, up 11.4 percent year on year while the non-tax income reached 334.72 million yuan, a year-on-year rise of 11.9 percent. Jiading’s local fiscal income was next to Pudong New Area and Minhang District in total volume but ranked ninth in growth rate. The rise in revenue benefited from steady growth and improved industrial structures.
